Artist Statement

Hey There! Thanks for taking the time to look at my art! My name is Gabi! And this is my third session here at Portable Vision! I’m a homeschooled junior in high school and I’m taking PSEO classes full time at St.Cloud Technical and Community College. I live in Sauk Rapids, I’m a barista at Rock Creek Coffeehouse.

This session I created Works of His Hands with acrylic paints on canvas. The main idea behind this piece is how God has created so many beautiful creations. Something that has been on my heart and on my mind lately is how things that we consider beautiful most often are in the diversity and complexity of the person or object at hand. I painted the big hands signing the symbol of “i love you” over the paint strokes depicting the different beautiful creations, because one of the biggest ways I see God’s love and kindness is in his diverse and intentional creations.

I want to thank all of the amazing mentors here at PV! They offer so much creative and artistic wisdom and input that benefits all of us students so greatly. Their spiritual guidance is something that is so beautiful to see and they provide such a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere for all of us young artists to come and experience every week. I truly look up to every one of them :)
