I’m Sophia Nielsen, and I’m 14 years old. I have many mentors and they’re all very cool in my opinion. I go to Prince of Peace Lutheran School, or the school across from Stay Fit in Sartell. I first started my piece by using a small canvas and trying different things on it. I then used another small canvas to try other things, because I ran out of room sadly. I decided to use many different acrylic painting techniques. So basically, if you look at my piece, you’ll see many different types of brush strokes and other things. I wanted to show what happens when a sunset’s shades are opposite.
It’s a very simple painting and doesn’t look good on the outside, but I put a lot of my energy into that painting and that’s all that really matters to me. I get worked up over the smallest things and if something is different than it should be it doesn’t make me feel very good. I also like to try new things though, so I painted, which I’m familiar with, but also changed something up from its normal appearance. It’s a little look into what I might be like if you ever get to know me.
Ok so before you finish reading this, I would like to thank the very cool mentors I mentioned earlier. Some of them I just met, but they are all very helpful and gave me so many different looks on life. One thing I got out of this experience at PV was that you can try whatever you want and as long as you want to do it, it doesn’t matter what others say. Two other people I need to thank are my parents, they were the ones who pushed me into PV in the first place. And lastly... YOU! Thank you for coming here to support both of our groups!
