Artist Statement

My name is Grace Pallansch. I am an 8th grader at the now digital North Jr. High. My piece is a comical self portrait. It is of me surrounded by a lot of things I like and find comforting. At first I had no idea what to make for this show, until I realized that whenever I thought about what I should do for this piece and came up with nothing, I would always go to my Happy Place.

So I chose to draw what I think my Happy Place would look like. I drew my piece in a way where you can look at it and possibly see something you didn't before. I personally don’t believe in “God”, but what I do believe in is Science and Evolution.

I would like to thank all of the group leaders that helped me with deciding on what to do for my piece. I would also like to thank all of the friends I made that helped me with my thought process about my piece. Overall I had a good time, and this was a great experience.
